As well as providing information to colleagues about patients during handover, it is also imperative that you are able to easily create, manage and track tasks related to that patient. You can do this through Medixus in a few easy steps.

  1. Select the 'Handover' tab at the bottom of your screen

  2. From your patient list, click into the patient record you would like to update

  3. Once the patient handover is open, navigate to the 'Tasks' tab

  4. Create a new task by entering the description of the task and choosing an assignee (someone responsible for the task) where applicable. Please note: you can leave a task as unassigned for someone else on the team to pick up

  5. To mark a task as complete, simply select the checkbox - it will disappear from the task list after 72 hours, before that time it can be 'unchecked' if the task needs to be reopened

View all tasks in one place

We realise it would be cumbersome to only be able to see each of your tasks by navigating into each individual record, so we created a 'Tasks' tab at the bottom of your screen.

Here you are able to see all the tasks associated with any patient handovers that you have access to.

To create a new task, you must do this from within the patient handover itself - to ensure each task is associate with a patient, and avoid any ambiguity.
